Gone Baby Gone director Ben Affleck almost arrested

Ben Affleck who was making his directional debut on Gone Baby Gone has said that he almost got arrested, as cops thought he was a drug dealer. Affleck said that the reason for the confusion was that he was filming his new movie in an area where a lot of drug dealing goes on, and on a few occasions the police swooped in on the crew. He said “The cops nearly arrested us a couple of times because they thought we were drug dealers.”

According to Female First The police wanted to talk to Affleck and his team, as they were working in an area where a human trafficking ring house was very close to their movie location. The reason that Ben Affleck wanted to shoot Gone Baby Gone in an area like this, was to show people a world that they would not normally see. Affleck himself grew up in a poor part of Boston, much the same as the area where Gone Baby Gone was filmed. Affleck said “I wanted to reveal what it’s really like in one of those areas the audience would never have access to – bars they would never visit.”

Gone Baby Gone is about two Boston detectives who have to investigate when a girl is kidnapped; this then turns into a crisis for the both of them professionally and personally.

Check out the movie ‘Gone Baby Gone’ when it is released in the UK release in June, the movie was meant to be released earlier, but Affleck delayed the release due to the disappearance of Madeline McCann.
