At the beginning of the month we reported that Mark Ronson had sacked Amy Winehouse from working on the new James Bond theme, well it now seems that Beyonce, the soul singer has been asked to work on the theme for the new movie, but as yet she has not finished. As for Amy Winehouse, Ronson has said “We did work on it, but we never finished it, “I don’t think it will happen unless by some miracle it gets recorded and someone sings vocals.”
Winehouse has said that she has completed a number of songs for the new Bond theme, but she does not know what the problem is. Since Ronson does not want to work with Winehouse, The Pet Shop Boys have now offered their services. I for one do not think that it is a great idea to have someone like Amy Winehouse to work on a high profile movie.
The problem is, we know that Amy has a drink and drug problem, if she was an athlete she would be banned from the sport. So I put it to record producers to pull the plug on this time bomb, is this the image that you want young people to grow up seeing, not exactly the message I would want to put out. To long have we stood by and let singers get away with acting like animals while in the public eye.
Don’t you think some positive reinforcement for the tremendously talented Winehouse - particularly with the media cheering on her trainwreck every news cycle - would be a GOOD thing? This is a James Bond movie, not exactly a public service message for temperance and chastity. Will there be a zero body count? Will no flesh be on display? Will you picket the premiere if not? Give the movie’s - and Winehouse’s - publics a slight bit of credit for distinguishing fantasy from reality, and for wishing Amy well. If Ronson won’t work with her because she is incorrigible, that’s business. Save the moral lecture for true threats to your life and liberty.

Why does the singer of a james bond theme have to be a good role model? What does that even matter?? Its about the voice folks! And AMY WINEHOUSE IS THE BEST .. the only … CHOICE to sing for Bond.
I for one want her to get better - she is an amazing beautiful and troubled person.

leave the poor lass alone. did the media have a go at robbie when he had a coke problem?? winehouse and pete d. get nothing but grief. as for the label dropping her how many bands in the past have used drugs? they dont call it the rock n roll lifestyle for nothing. lets see pink floyd, led zepellin, the who, the doors, guns n roses, primal scream, the stones and dont forget robbie…. never touched dugs did they. get off her back and give her some credit. most people with her addictions barely make their way out of the social, never mind being a great pop success.

Lazy bandwagon journalism. “if she was an athlete she would be banned from the sport”, substance abuse is against the rules, its not the samein music.
In todays extreme media intrusive society i can feel for her, Hendrix & Cobain didnt have to put up with that. You wonder why Brittney has self-destructed?!
Just because she’s talented doesnt mean its compulsory to be a role model, cause that would mean changing who she was. You live your life for yourself not for other people

too bad Winehouse lost that James Bond gig, she has a unique sound, would have done the job admirably
