It seems that Ricky Wilson is living on another planet; he recently said that Kaiser Chiefs are better than Oasis and are the most popular band in Britain. This is one remark that Wilson will regret one because Oasis has a huge fan following even though they have not produced any new materiel for a while, and the fact that he will have to meet Noel and Liam Gallagher, to get their remark. Wilson said Oasis have disappeared up their own a***. They think they are LED ZEPPELIN. They’re not.” He also added “Music has moved on and I think we are the band that most music fans would see as their successor.”
You have to wonder if this is just a bit of publicity from Kaiser Chiefs front man Ricky, as the band are working on a new album. He has said that he thinks it is their best stuff yet. Mark Ronson is producing the new album; it should be something very special as he is one of the hottest producers in the UK at the moment. Ricky Wilson has never by shy in coming forward, and always likes to big his band up; he has recently been spotted out partying with the likes of Mel C, as well as Keisha Buchanan from the Sugarbabes.

Do you think that The Kaiser Chiefs are better than Oasis, come on Ricky who are you trying to kid?
Ha ha ha! Kaiser Chiefs could only dream of being as big as Oasis! What ‘great’ albums have they made? Oasis have got ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘Morning Glory’ to their name - the latter being the third best selling British album of all time.
Even though Oasis latter material might not be as good as Morning Glory standard, it’s still miles better than the shit that’s out today.
At the end of the day, the two biggest bands in Britain are Coldplay and Oasis - just look at their album sales around the world. I think it’s time for Ricky Wilson to hide up his own lard arse.
And Mark Ronson producing their next album… don’t get me started. It’s just one big tosser after another.

Nah, not sure of that, Oasis were the Goliaths of the ‘Indie’ scene of the mid-90’s. However, their relevance today doesn’t really carry so much clout now as it did back then. I like t reminisce but things have got to keep moving forward so today, I’d say the Kaiser Chiefs have a bigger influence today than Oasis would. As for all out influence on today’s musicians, well I don’t see any.. you’re probably likely to hear more influences from The Smiths more than anything else..
