Ted Kennedy has released a short statement this morning; just shortly before he was due to go in for brain surgery. In the statement Senator Kennedy said that he would be undergoing “targeted surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation.” Teddy will be undergoing the surgery at University Medical Centre, with Dr Allan Friedman performing the surgery, it is expected that it will take about one week for Kennedy to recuperate. In the statement he gave thanks to all the support that he has received from friends and family. Once he has recovered from his treatment he said that he will be returning to the United States Senate, where he hopes to do everything in his power to help elect his friend Barack Obama.
Ted Kennedy was rushed to hospital on May 17 following a seizure, when he was admitted to hospital doctors diagnosed him with having a tumour on his left parietal lobe. Although doctors did say that the senator could die in as little as a year from the tumour, he was released the following day. Ted Kennedy has been a thorn in the side of President George W Bush, Kennedy is doing all he can for Barack Obama, in his race to become president of the United States.
It seems that bad luck and misfortune follows the Kennedy’s, back in 1969 Ted Kennedy’s car plunged off a bridge, the young lady who was in the car with him at the time Mary Jo Kopechne, drowned. Let us hope that Teddy pulls through this very delicate brain operation, no doubt Barack Obama will be praying for his friend.
