Not so long ago there were only a few Radiohead tracks available from the Apple’s iTunes Music Store, now the download service is offering the bands entire back catalog. It seems that the list of major holdouts from the top download service is getting ever smaller. There were signs earlier this year, when the band allowed their new album to be downloaded from iTunes.
Radiohead’s six albums were made available only this morning, the band has been holding out as long as possible to make their work available on Apple’s iTunes Music Store, they wanted fans to purchase their albums in complete form instead. There is only a short list of stars who have not yet allowed their work to be available for download on iTunes, these include AC/DC, Garth Brooks and The Beatles however; Sir Paul McCartney is still in talks with Apple to allow the entire back catalog of The Beatles for download.
I do not understand why these other music stars are not allowing their songs for download, the thing is digital downloads is the future for not only music, but also movies as well. I can’t remember the last time that I walked into a music store to purchase a CD album. We are all waiting for the time that movie studios allow people the chance to download their movies as well, but we might need faster internet speeds for that though.
