According to Forbes magazine’s 2008 Oprah Winfrey has been named as the world’s most powerful celebrity. The US TV talk show queen topped the annual 100 list beating Tiger Woods and Angelina Jolie.
It’s said that the Forbes list is designed to reflect the influence of a celebrity in any one year and it looks at how much a celebrity is paid, and how much press, internet and TV coverage they get.
Stars that have not been included on the list this year include Tom Hanks, Jessica Alba and Elton John, who was last year’s number seven.
