Last night Sir Alan Sugar admitted that he struggled to make up his mind over who to choose Lee or Claire but it was Lee who won in the end. Sir Alan Sugar said that “It is a terrible moment when you’ve got two great people and I had to make my mind up. But I saw the way that Lee was focused and passionate when things were going wrong. He delivered every time I asked him to. It’s all a case of delivering and he delivered.”

Sir Alan called Lee and Claire into the boardroom and asked them why they both thought they should be the winner. Claire said that “I came into the competition with a huge amount of drive, I was going at 100 miles per hour and I was going to cause an accident. What I’ve learnt to do is be more calm and considered. I want to become better as business and I want to become a better person. I feel that I have got all the pieces of my jigsaw together that I’m ready to do anything.”

Sir Alan then asked Lee if he really wanted the job Lee said that “More than any other person in this competition. Sir Alan, you should hire me because I’ve demonstrated over the last 12 weeks, my sales ability, my management ability, leading by example and man-management as well. I have managed three tasks which I have won. I have consistently delivered throughout this intense process; this makes me, in my opinion, your next Apprentice.”

Do you think that Sir Alan made the right decision?

  2. Lee was the right person to be the apprentice,
he gave 100% effort to all the task from start to finish and delivered too,he had an absolute hunger for the job and realises he’s in the last chance saloon if he didn’t.

I detect there is something that all the top business people like Sir Alan, Sir Richard, Bill Gates and Philip Green and numerous others have that is lacking in Lee but I was reassured by the CV controversy that somehow this is there but not yet honed.
