Tim Russert who was best known as the long-time host of NBC’s Meet the Press, he passed away last Friday after collapsing at the NBC News Bureau in Washington. The cause of death was coronary embolism, which caused a heart attack.
According to the autopsy, Tim’s physician Dr. Michael Newman said that Tim “was known to have asymptomatic coronary artery disease [atherosclerosis], which resulted in hardening of his coronary arteries.”
According to Tim’s obituary he was born on the 7th May 1950 in Buffalo, New York and died on Friday 13th June at the age of 58.
Tim is survived by his wife Maureen Orth who is a journalist for Vanity Fair, and son, Luke, who recently graduated from Boston College.
All our thoughts are with his family at this time
Its just such a shame that doctors could have saved him by implanting an ICD this would have saved his life but now it’s too late.

I as many others loved Tim Russert! If he was on everything stopped in my home to listen to what he had to say. I respected him, appreciated him, & enjoyed him as did my husband. I felt his loss not only as a journalist but as a truly incredible human being. He had so much to give. Listening to his son Luke on Today show this morning I felt a huge comfort. Because it’s so obvious he didn’t completely leave us. Luke simply is blessed with all his father was & I see Tim in everything about him. Tim was obviously proud of Luke but looking down on him from heaven I cannot believe he isn’t the most proud. What an honor along with Maureen to have raised such a gifted person. God be with his family.

I can not say how sorry I’m about the passing of Tim Russert. Every Sunday morning we would turn Channel 5 on and liisten to Tim as we got ready to go to mass. We NEVER listened to anything but Tim Russert. I really don’t know if I have any interest in watching the show. He made Meet the Press.
It is so sad, someone who was such an asset to loss his life at such a young age. My heart goes out to both Luke and Maureen in the lost of someone so loved by them.
Thoughts and Prayers are with you.

I believe that Tim Russert finished his work here on earth, and God has called him home.
God waited until his son Luke finished his college education, and Dad would have passed on life values to him at this age
God wanted him, so there was no warning or time for Tim to stay
The world loved him
but God loves him best
