
On Monday at the MOJO Awards it was singer Duffy who won the award for music magazine’s song of the year with hit single Mercy, while the Australian rockers Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds claimed the award for best album prize for Dig, Lazarus Dig.
Other winners at the awards ceremony on Monday included The Last Shadow Puppets, featuring Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, who won the best breakthrough act, and heavy metal rockers “Motorhead”, who were honoured with the MOJO hero award.
It’s said that Rockers Led Zeppelin won the award for the best live act for their one-off reunion gig in London in late 2007, and U.S. singer Neil Diamond was awarded the classic songwriter award a well deserved award.
The MOJO Honours List is MOJO’s annual awards ceremony, and is the chance to venerate the genuine heroes and timeless legends of music while celebrating the best releases of the previous 12 months.
