iTunes sells five billion songs and 50,000 movies per day

It seems that Apple have something to smile about, they have just announced that their iTune store is going from strength to strength, music fans has now purchased and downloaded over five billion songs. This announcement proves that iTunes is the worlds number when it comes to music downloads; the store has a music catalogue of over eight million songs.

That is not all that Apple has to smile about, customers are now renting and purchasing over 50,000 movies every day from the store, this has now made iTunes one of the worlds most popular source for downloaded movies. Apple iTunes now has a huge catalogue of movies from the biggest movie studios; these include 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), New Line Cinema, Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment, The Walt Disney Studios, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Warner Bros.

Users who sign up to iTunes are able to rent and watch movies on their Macs or PCs, iPhones as well as on the latest generation of iPods, and let us not forget on the Apple TV. Apple iTunes now has a catalogue of 2,000 movies and 20,000 TV episodes, and let us not forget about 350 high definition films. iTunes is one of the most simple and versatile ways to access music online, and has been made more popular with the launch of the iPhone, as you can integrate your downloads onto the handset.

Apple iTunes has come a long way in a short amount of time, and since January and February 2008, became the largest music retailer in the US.
