Tim Russert has been snubbed by TV Guide the publication

Filed Under: Celebrity | By: Kerry Chubb

Last week Tim Russert was on the cover of a lot of magazines following his death. But TV Guide, the publication that covers Tim’s own medium, snubbed him. It’s said that the editors of the Magazine had plenty of time to put Tim on the cover but decided against it. Tim’s life was celebrated by every major publication in the U.S. last week which was fantastic.

Its said that the new editor, Debra Birnbaum, came to the TV Guide from Life & Style and it was her decision not to put Tim on the front cover.

According to reports Tim got a piece in the magazine, with small online features by writer Matt Roush, an even shorter “Cheers and Jeers” paragraph devoted to his funeral. And on the cover of the print issue, there’s just a small cover tag line that reads: “Tim Russert, We Miss You!”

Surly they could have done more then that. What do you think?

In other news according to NBC Tom Brokaw, who anchored the `NBC Nightly News’ for more than 20 years, will replace the late Tim Russert as moderator of the network’s Sunday morning talk show `Meet the Press. He is scheduled to begin on June 29.

Do you think that Tom is the right man for the job?

Denise Richards over Tim Russert??????? No wonder I stopped reading TV Guide a long time ago! It shows where Debra Birnbaum’s priorities are…

TV Guide missed the boat this time!!! Poor decision on their part to not honor a man such as Tim Russert. Time for a “real” editor.
