
For years the nation has always been behind Tim Henman, when he used to mount his bid to become the winner of Wimbledon. Well no longer will fans been shouting out for Tim on top of Henman hill. However; Brits need not despair as they have another player to shout out for. Andy Murray, is the new British Number One and starts his bid for Wimbledon 2008 today, and will face France’s Fabrice Santoro.
So this year the British fans will now be on top of Murray Mount shouting out for Andy, in the hope that he will lift the trophy. So today Murray will face all the pressure that Henman used to face. Ok so Andy Murray has always faced pressures before a match, but he now has extra pressure as British tennis fans pin all their hopes on him.
Murray, 21 also has the added pressure of not being as popular as Tim Henman was, the former British No.1 was loved by most fans in the country, Tim was an easy going person and got on well with his fans. However; Murray is another story, he is not loved as much as Henman and this is due to how angry he gets on the court. Many hope that Murray will change his attitude and become more like our Tim.
There is one thing that is certain though, Andy is a world class Tennis player and he does stand a great chance of going much further than Tim Henman ever did. Come on guys let us give Andy Murray our full support.
