For all you Red Sox fans out there, you must have wondered what was happening to your baseball team last night; it seemed as if they would never get back to their winning form. Normally they would have a home-field advantage, but it was not looking that way at first. Then something amazing happened, it might have been the fans that helped but the Red Sox finally managed to rally four runs in the eighth inning, this then lead to a classic hometown smackdown against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Red Sox managed a 5-4 victory, Mike Lowell who had a two-run double off Chad Qualls said “I’m glad we didn’t have to play extra innings because ’Tek had a huge at-bat,” Lowell said. “(He’s) been a little bit unlucky. I think he’s been better than those numbers, but I know it feels good for a ball to drop, especially in a big situation. He’s a grinder. . . . He never lets something that might be going on at the plate affect a game he’s calling or catching.”
It seems that no matter how much you suck on the night you should just keep pushing, and this is exactly what The Red Sox did. If the Red Sox lost last night, then this would have been their second straight series defeat at home against a National League foe. Now that they won last night, the Red Sox now have a shot at a series victory tonight.
Let us hope that the Red Sox start their game like they finished their last, I do not think that the fans can handle such a tense game again.
