Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert in Hyde Park
Jun 27, 2008 | Comments 2

It has just been announced that Nelson Mandela has flown to London to hang out in Hyde Park with Queen and the Sugababes. Nelson Mandela who was the former President of South Africa has come out of retirement to help raise funds for the 46664 campaign which raises awareness of HIV-Aids in Africa. Nelson Mandela isn’t 90 until the 18th July but I am sure that tonight he will enjoy the concert.
The concert will be hosted by Will Smith, and the line up includes Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Leona Lewis, Razorlight, Jamelia and the Soweto Gospel Choir, with Bill Clinton, Gordon Brown and Robert De Niro dropping by and big “surprise” guests promised.
The question on everyone’s mind is will Amy Winehouse turn up tonight and perform on stage because yesterday she missed the photo call. As we all know Amy has been very ill and if she does make it we hope that she gets a very warm welcome. Its said that Amy is teaming up with British rocker Dammers to perform his band’s hit song Free Nelson Mandela a track he wrote in 1984 to campaign for the release of the former South African president.
Will you be watching the concert tonight in Hyde Park?
