All four members of Abba were at the Swedish premiere of the film Mama Mia! Which is based on the hit stage musical of the same name featuring many of Abba’s greatest hits. Stars Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan belt out unforgettable Abba songs in this film. It’s said that it was the two actors who requested that the band get back together for the event.
Abba - Benny Andersson who is now 61, Bjorn Ulvaeus who is 63, singer Anni-Frid Reuss-Lyngstad who is 62 and Agnetha Faltskog who is 58 broke up in 1982. but ever since then Abba has always been a big hit at parties and karaoke.
There were hopes they would link up in 2004 for a performance of Waterloo, the song that won them the Eurovision Song Contest 30 years earlier. But Agnetha who has become something of a recluse, pulled out at the last moment.
I can not wait to see this film it will a box office hit that’s for sure.
