Bernie Mac performed at a Barack Obama fundraiser on Friday night, the standup comedian is well known for being a little loose with his tongue. Well some of the audience was a little shocked at his jokes over women, as a result decided to heckle him.
The tickets were not cheap; they cost $2,300 a head for this fundraiser so they expect to get value for their money. They thought that Mac’s jokes were in bad taste, someone in the crowd actually shouted out “It’s not funny, let’s get Barack on.”
After a short while Mac did introduce Obama on, the Senator called Mac a great friend. Towards the end of the politician’s remarks, he had said that divisions still exist in America. He said “We can’t afford to be divided by race. We can’t afford to be divided by religion, or by region or class. Or by gender. That means, by the way, Bernie you got to clean up your act. This is a family affair. … I’m just messing with you.”
The Barack Obama campaign were quick to distance themselves from those comments that Bernie Mac made, a spokesperson had said that Obama had told Mac that he does not condone the statement s that he made, Obama said that they were inappropriate.
