Camp Rock Vs High School Musical

Now here is a big question that I would love the answer to. My daughter is a massive fan of High School Musical but now that Camp Rock has come on the seen staring the Jonas Brothers could this change her mind?
On Friday Disney Channel’s Jonas Brothers movie “Camp Rock” debuted big but it’s said that it did not match last year’s record-setting “High School Musical 2.” But could it beat High School Musical 3?
Camp Rock is the new 2008 Disney Channel Movie. The movie stars teen pop sensations the Jonas Brothers and introduces Demi Lovato for her first lead role in a film.
And yes just like High School Musical there will be a sequel to Camp Rock. It’s said that Disney is pending the script that’s in development due to the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato’s busy schedule. According to reports the cast are expected to begin filming again in late spring or summer 2009.

Disney just wants money. It’s said that sequels kill the original movie. They need to stop before they do just that. All of this marketing is (in my mind) making disney look less like a kid-friendly company and more and more like one that is taking advantage of children to get their parent’s money. =/ *sigh*

I’m a huge devoted Jonas fan. I will pick the Jonases any day over any member of the HSM cast (even Corbin) BUT the production team failed them. The movie didn’t turn out as good as it could have with a better script, directing, editing…all things the HSMs have. It’s a shame Camp Rock was so sloppy…it was still FUN and sweet and the negative has nothing to do with all of the awesome talent in the film, I just hope they get a better team to produce it next time!!! The Jonas Brothers are talented and deserve better than to be pulled into half-a**sed moneymaking schemes (and I am Disney fan, I say this with love and honesty.)
Oh, but another thing!! The Camp Rock ALBUM is 100,000 times better than the HSMs, as standalone music. They did a wonderful job with that!!

Annie, HSM (1) + HSM (2) = HSM 3! And HSM3 will defo be better than Camp Rock, because everyone seems to always prefer the newer movie. Thats why disney don’t release a lot of great movies around the same time. That way, one movies merchandise will sell better than some people buying from one movie, others buying from the second and others just buying a few small items instead of buying bulk items a lot.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL
Well High School Musical and Camp Rock are both good movies. Disney movies in general always have problems with character development and such but I think the Jonas Brothers definatly gave Camp Rock that extra edge. The music isn’t just musical music, like HSM’s is. I think CR and HSM, while both being Disney musicals are not all that similar - to me, Camp Rock has more of a message. Be true to yourself; don’t let others hold you back and stop you from being who you are. High School Musical has that message as well, except in HSM2, Sharpay, who had apparently reformed, went back to her old ways. Not much was learned, obviously. Until CR2 comes out and we see how different the lead antagonist is, Camp Rock is going to win with me.

I’m not a crazy fan but I have to say that I adored HSM more that I liked Camp Rock, & I don’t think that’s gunna change much.
Camp Rock was REALLY predictable & you jut anticipate what was gunna happen next. It was a really cute movie & I’ve seen it more than 3 times… but honestly, I didn’t like the music all that much…
HSM on the other hand can make me have a BIG smile on my face and actually have me wanting to get up and dance the movies (don’t act like you haven’t =P).

Camp rock looks rather cute but the amount of people who are fans of high school musical. the amount for camp rock will never beet the amount for hms becausse all the littler kids will have no idea wat this is takin about and will stay fans of hsm! Camp rock is only behind in views because it hasnt aired in the uk yet. Camp Rock is good. The Jonas Brothers are cool with quite a good sound, classically representing the “pop-rock” sound. Demi Lovato has a strong voice as well which make Camp rock a great film. This “HSM” you all refer to is an insult to musicals. It is cheesy and why anyone above 8 like it, they are just silly. Musicals can be cheesy but HSM is just pathetic. Performers in musicals should be able to act. I think that might be why Zack and Vanessa wont do another one because they finally realised that they cant act.
Okay if anyone think that HMS is good then they are sooo sad anyone with a brain can see that the HMS cast can’t act and Vanessa is THE WORST ACTOR IN THE WORLD!! The songs suck and I can’t belive that HMS is even watchable to anyone over the age of 5. This is coming from a big musical fan and you can not really say that HMS is better then he like of “Singing in the rain” “On the town” “Gresse” “west side story” and every amazing music in he world. I haven’t actually seen the film yet as it comes out in England (where I live!) on 19th September. But I am really excited about it as I love the Jonas brothers, especially Joe.
I think you guys are all taking it too seriously, why do we need to compare them? I like HSM but I like the songs from Camp Rock too and it has the Jonas brothers in it, which is a bonus.

seriously though guys. you do know that Camp Rock can’t measure up to hsm. it has no fucking plot, bad acting, not funny, cheesy lines, and NO ROCK SONGS. how can it possibly be called CAMP ROCK? The singers only sang POP songs (which I must say are really bad at lip-synching.) Open your eyes guys or else i’d have to pry them with a crow bar to show you that camp rock SUCKS ASS and DICK. And admit it, you only love Camp Rock because Jonas Brothers/The Jonas Fags are in it—which by the way should stick to singing since they really suck at acting as well.

Camp rock is wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better than high school musical 1. I don’t mean 2 b offensive, but hsm1 was a lot like grease, whereas camp rock has a better, clever twist 2 it. I personally think it is way better than high school musical 2 and high school musical 3 may not have as many viewers because its in cinemas, it probably won’t have as many viewers anyway. Also, the characters don’t look as plastic and perfect cos mitchie is poor and shane can be a bit selfish and jerky. BTW, JOE JONAS IS AWESOME AND ISN’T SELFISH AND JERKY, ONLY HIS CHARACTER SHANE GRAY!!! He is TOTALLY AWESOME and is HILARIOUS!!! CAMP ROCK AND JOE JONAS FOREVER!!!

Camp rock stinks of poo. The jonas brother are so ugly and everyones making such a big deal over them. Demi is just so over it and her lip singing is so fake. Camp rock is so cheesy and has no storyline and just basially tries to copy hsm. It will never EVER be bigger that hsm I loooooooooooooove hsm and will never like camp rock. Everyone in my class at school hates camp rock.But all the girls love Hsm it is the best. Rock on hsm!

I think that HSM is boring now and i am still a fan but not a massive fan because HSM is getting a bit babyihish no a fence HSM fans Im not saying you guys are baby’s even if your a teenager like my sister and my friends sisters are liking HSM too but just to go over what Florin says about Vanessa Hudgen’s voice when she sings she sings so low you cant hear her voice and its bit pointless about her being in HSM but she does a good voice but you just can’t hear her singing the lines shes apose to sing loud so people can hear what shes singing. so lets n=move on about what i have to say about Camp Rock, Camp Rock is a much better movie than Hsm cause to let you Camp Rock fans out their if you didn’t know that there was a show on called my camp rock which i watched every friday and today was the results and when the winner was anounced i nearly cried and when they snag their song again in the final jam i got some gose bumps on my arms and legs and i wanted them to win and they had an amazing voice and they sound bit like an angel to me. sorry this comment is really long but i have alot to say and one last thing i would like to say is that Demi- Lovato is an amazing singer aswell and i have already heared some of her songs. all u camp rock fans out their i would like to say to u lot is please when u get this comment write back about HSM so i have to go now LOL Leah
