The Dark Knight without a doubt is a superb movie, and we have mentioned many times at how great Heath Ledger’s performance is, Director Christopher has called it terrific.
Nolan has been talking about the new Batman movie, which I have to say looks to be the best so far, Nolan has said that he wanted to make an action movie that is different to any other action movie.
The Dark Knight is darker, more twisted, more despairing, more bleak. Well the San Francisco Chronicle said that he has mostly succeeded, this is a lot to do with the superb performance put in by Ledger.
The Dark Knight has a lot going on, but it is Ledger’s performance as the Joker that keeps the movie going. There is so much hype surrounding this new Batman movie, and so much is riding on the performance of the late Heath Ledger.
So many people have been saying how great his performance is, so now is the time that we get to see if it is true. Never before has so many fans being praying that an actor’s performance does so well in a movie.
I have to touch on the subject which I covered on Wednesday, about how Ledger’s performance as the Joker was much better than that of Jack Nicholson’s. You have to remember that Nicholson’s Joker was perfect for the time, could you imagine a Joker as dark as Ledger’s back then, I do not think that audiences would have understood it.
