It seems that Justin Timberlake can do no wrong at the moment, no matter what people throw at him, he just seems to shine. He was asked to present the 2008 ESPY awards and I have to say, he rocked.
When someone comes face to face with some of the biggest sporting stars they would feel a little overwhelmed, but not Timberlake, it looked as if he was out there having fun.
Timberlake certainly made the crowd laugh when he started to pose in various athletic stances, also the cardboard cutout thing made my family laugh.
One of the funniest things about the 2008 ESPYS awards was when a video of an angry Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State University football coach, during a news conference; it was then cut to a spoof video which showed Justin Timberlake as the reporter.
He then started to ask him “Were you or were you not a fan of ‘N Sync’?” he then grilled Gundy further by asking “Why do you have a picture of the Jonas Brothers on your desk? We’ve all seen it! It’s right under your Hannah Montana poster.”
It was truly a funny night, and shows that music stars still have a sense of humor.
Were these people even watching the show. I didn’t think I could ever feel bad for someone dating Jessica Biel, but it was PAINFUL watching him do the opening monologue. I felt embarrassed for him and kept having to turn the channel because I couldn’t watch it anymore. Maybe his songs were better later in the show, but he BOMBED up there trying to be a stand-up comedian. I think JT is super talented, but not at comedy. Few can pull that off - Jamie Foxx comes to mind and JT is nowhere close to Jamie’s comic level. Sorry, but please don’t kiss JT’s butt. It’s OK to admit he IS lacking in some areas of entertainment.

Your crazy! I was at a packed sports bar watching the ESPYs and the entire place was laughing hysterically. Even the roughest dudes in the bar thought JT was great. I’m no JT fan but he did an unbelievable job. And to be honest I was not surprised because he has been great on Saturday night live.
Don’t be a hater just because your girlfriend has a crush on the guy!!! lol

Justin was quite funny. It appeared that he wrote his own material because he delivered it like it was his own. It was refreshing to see a sports fan spare nobody in his humor. He was reverent and irreverent at the same time. For a singer, he was actually pretty funny. I saw Garnett exploding in laughter at the puppet saying “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!”

A standing ovation for JT is in order!!!! Very good

you must not be a true sports fan if you didn’t think that was funny!!! That was just laugh out loud, roll on the floor funny!!! JT did a GREAT job! I’m not a big fan of his music but I watched the ESPY’s again tonight because he was that good and hilarious! The sports opera bit was incredible! That was tough to get all those names out so quick and he did it… and the free throw bit.. can you do that?? But I am curious as to how many takes it took for the ball to go in with out him looking…
Give the man some credit!! He rocked!!!

All of his music is starting to sound the same…..I am an avid sports fan and know mo’ than Justin. His ego is out of alignment. He needs to remeber where he cometh from.

Whoever thinks Justin did a horrible job has no sense of humor and doesn’t know anything about sports.
No serioiusly and Kathleen, you are both massive RETARDS!

Rerax….yeey it is only a discussion…! In my opinion JT stunk..I know all about sports I know all about humour and I believe he was flat and contrived. That my truth…
Comment by kathleen — July 22, 2008 @ 11:10 pm
flat and contrived??? Are you sure you were watching this years ESPY’s on Sports Center?? No way you could have been watching the same show we were…. holy cow.. by what standards are you measuring?? He was hilarious.. I know this was just your “truth” but… really… flat and contrived.. that was as good as you thought he was… i think you need to watch it again …

I started watching ESPY Awards with the “I love Sports” songs.
Loved his reaction to the Nipplegate pic on the screen.

Watched it again…owee that hurt-
I thought he was trying to be funny at everyones expense. We all know and knew about the mishaps in the butt of his jokes. It is just that when people try to do that to him …he gets pissed. Eye for an eye. He still stunk in my opinion

JT rocked. For those who are haters - you have the right to your own opinion but you are all just looking for attention because the rest of us know this dude was awesome. He was clean, clever, witty, and the best MC ever. Thank you people for understanding clever-intelligent humor.
