Rapper 50 Cent real name Curtis Jackson is suing Taco Bell, as the fast-food chain had used his hip-hop persona to sell their tacos.
50 Cent feels that his trademark name was infringed in an ad campaign for their Taco Bell menu; he is suing them for $1 million in damages.
Fitty has said that he never gave Taco Bell permission to use his name in the ad campaign. The ad asks 50 cent to change his name to 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent.
Taco Bell used the rap stars names so that they could help sell their new hip-hop-based advertising campaign.
In the suit it says that Taco Bell had generated massive publicity by using the rap artist’s name.
Taco Bell has sent a letter to 50 Cent saying that they will donate $10,000 to Fitty’s favorite charity. 50 Cent has been coming under fire from his fans, saying that he has sold out. However; fans do not understand that the ads were unauthorized.
