Hollywood star Tom Cruise has been named in a $250 million federal lawsuit, which accuses him of continuous harassment. Peter Letterese, a one-time Scientologist has filed the lawsuit against David Miscavage, the leader of the church as well as Tom Cruise.

Many believe that Cruise is now second in command for the church; he has been accused by Letterese of continuous harassment after he had left the organization.

Letterese has said in the lawsuit that he compares the Church of Scientology to a crime syndicate; he said that members of the church tried to convinces his lawyer’s wife that he was having a homosexual affair. One member of the church actually phoned the wife, the caller then tried to convince the lawyer’s wife that he was his Letterese’s gay lover.

Letterese seems to be going after Cruise, he said that David Miscavage is “aided and abetted by the actions of Tom Cruise, who is his right hand man. Cruise is in charge of foreign and domestic promotion, as well as for foreign and domestic lobbying.

We are not sure how far this lawsuit will go, one thing is sure though The Church of Scientology is having a hard time just lately.

Statement from general counsel for Church of Scientology International
The case filed by Peter Letterese and his company Creative Desperation is frivolous and obviously designed to generate publicity for himself.

In this case, he is suing more than 60 people and entities, including Google, Yahoo! and the American Arbitration Association. In July 2008, the Federal Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit rejected similar claims and affirmed that the Church’s use of the book in question is fair use.

Letterese’s company was penalized $266,000 by a California Court stating that his company has “filed numerous, repetitive and frivolous motions” and “refused to comply with [court] orders, even though its counsel was warned several times that serious [penalties] would result from such failure.” The lawsuit is as meritless as his other filings.

  1. While I think he might have a vaild lawsuit against scientology, i’m not so sure he can add Cruise to the suit unless he can prove Cruise acted directly against him.

Scientology has a long dark history of this kind of thing. You can see court and public records about this at xenu.net
And you can see the many news programs and video’s of the members of scientology in action at xenutv.com

  5. Tom Cruise probably thinks hes doing good but he’s blinded by what really goes on in the orgs. He’s all well and happy when he has millions of dollars to spend on the the expensive courses so of course hes in a comfortable position. but for the common person scientology rips you off for pseudo-courses which are designed to brainwash you.

It’s a blatant pyramid scam based system.

  6. well, check the phone records and even if true, what about freedom of speech? besides, that’s a lot of money and it sucks when rich people get sued it’s always for some outrageous amount over something stupid. but as far as evidence, check phone records on the alleged dates of harrassment. besides, people tell on people for cheating all the time and if there is going to be a lawsuit everytime someone gets caught, that is just crazy. i don’t know why anyone would want to get publicity for cheating on their wife though. i don’ t think that is a motive in this case.

  7. Why would anyone in his proper intelligent mind sign up in this Scientology? Beats the hell out of me! I would rather put my vote of confidence in God and myself, and not some nutcrackers!
