Morgan Freeman Seriously Hurt in Car Accident

Oscar winning actor Morgan Freeman has been involved in a car accident, where he is said to be seriously hurt. Freeman was driving the vehicle at the time, which flipped over several times.

The Dark Knight actor and his female passenger had to be cut free by emergency workers. Both were then air lifted to hospital. Kathy Stringer, a spokeswoman for the regional medical centre in Memphis, has said that Freeman’s condition is “serious”.

Editor of the Charleston Sun Sentinel newspaper, Clay McFerrin said that when he arrived at the scene of the accident, Morgan was conscious and talking to rescuers. He said “They had to use the Jaws of Life [hydraulic cutters] to extract him from the vehicle. “He was lucid, conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point.”

The other passenger in the car was the owner Demaris Meyer. As yet there is no information as to the condition of Ms Meyer. According to Bill Luckett, a friend of the actor said that Morgan was sitting up and talking in the hospital.
