Disaster Movie: Nothing new from this spoof film

I have always loved comedy movies, but it seems that some people go way over the top and try just too hard. Movie spoofs are guilty of this and it is Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer who is king of the spoofs.

If I was them though I would not want to have that label, watching a movie like this is ok for the first five minutes but after that I just want to reach for the emergency exit at the cinema. I just think that people who make these kinds of movies are lazy, they take all the hard work that writers of big budget movies have done, and then tear it apart.

In Disaster Movie the movies that are being spoofed are Enchanted, Juno, Sex and the City, Indiana Jones, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Hancock, Wanted, Kung Fu Panda and 10,000 B. Ok a couple of these did deserve to be made fun of, but come on leave Iron Man alone.

If you want to go and watch something funny, then you should wait for Tropic Thunder, now the stars of that movie will show these wannabes in Disaster Movie how it is done.

Disaster Movie will be released on August 29, just at the end of the summer blockbuster season. The film will not be screened for critics, which is a good thing really. This also tells us that it is not all that good
