Just 18 days has passed since the release of The Dark Knight and the Batman sequel has already reached the $400 million mark. To give you an idea at just how good this is it took Shrek 2, 43 days to reach the $400 million mark.
When The Dark Knight hit the big screen it was breaking all kinds of box office records, and after 18 days the movie is still proving formidable against other new movies. Last weekend the Batman movie still managed to take $42.7 million, beating new movie The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. That movie managed to take $40.5 million.
The Dark Knight now has a new target in its sights, Titanic. That movie was huge taking $600.8 million at the domestic box office. The Batman sequel has just $200.7 million to go to reach that target, if The Dark Knight can still keep its legs, then Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman could go down in history.
I wonder if the actors in the Batman movie will get a nice bonus like Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslett got from Titanic director James Cameron.
Does The Dark Knight deserve to be the biggest grossing movie of all time?
