Olympic Soccer preliminary play: Chinese women win

Preliminary play of Olympic Soccer has already started and the Chinese Women’s team beat Sweden 2-1, Xu Yuan and Han Duan scored the goals. The men’s Chinese team plays New Zealand tonight in Shenyang.

Norway has also played and they beat the women’s U.S. team 2-0. The Norwegian team scored the two goals in the first four minutes. You could see from the start that the Norwegian team played like the world class players they are, it looked as if the U.S. did not have an answer.

Football without a doubt is the most popular sport in the world, but not many people care for it at the Olympic Games. Why we do not know as some of the best football is played at this level as it is not about the money, it is more about the dream of taking gold for your country.

The Beijing Olympics have not even opened and already we have seen that we are in for a great show. Let us hope that all the political stuff will not spoil the games.
