For those of you, who thought that Roger Federer was washed up, shame on you. Four years ago Federer crashed out but this time round the tennis star has made it to the quarter finals by beating Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Federer has a lot to prove, not to his fans but to himself after losing Wimbledon last month to Rafael Nadal. He too is on a mission and proving that his win at Wimbledon was no fluke. Nadal has also advanced to the quarter finals by beating Igor Andreev of Russia, 6-4, 6-2.
If the pair of them play like they have been we might just see the pair of them battling it out on Sunday for the gold. The way that Rafael Nadal is playing of late he will climb to world No.1, toppling Fererer’s four and a half year reign.
Federer will meet No. 8 James Blake, it is not certain who Nadal will face yet but it looks as though it could be No. 3 Novak Djokovic.
It would be great to see the world No.1 and No.2 do battle once more, I will be cheering for Federer to win.
