As I watched the second round of the Olympic 100 meters earlier today I noticed one thing, Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell were just coasting to the finish line. Tyson Gay looked as though he was working harder to get to the finish line. It seems that the Jamaicans have issued the American sprinter a warning.
Bolt, the world record holder did all that he needed to do in just the first 50 meters, he then looked left and right and then decided just to coast across the finish line in a time of 9.92 seconds.
While watching BBC1 this afternoon Bolt was asked if you had any more in the tank he replied “I have loads in the tank.”
Asafa Powell ran a time of 10.02 seconds while Gay did it in 10.09 seconds. It seems as if the American is looking a little unimpressive, Gay need to up his game if he wants a medal other than Bronze.
One thing is certain; we are all set for a thrilling 100 meter Olympic final. It will not be an American winning the gold though that will go to a Jamaican, but which one.
