The Boston Red Sox great Carl Yastrzemski has been hospitalized and has undergone tests following chest pains. The Hall of Famer was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital and had undergone evaluation and testing.
Yastrzemski spokesman Dick Gordon was asked if it was series, he replied “Any time you are in the hospital, it’s got to be pretty serious.” Yastrzemski was an 18-time All-Star and spent his whole career playing for the Boston Red Sox.
The Red Sox franchise had been flagging for some time and it was Yastrzemski in 1967, which helped to revitalize them. Kids in New England loved his lefty batting stance, with the bat held high over his head, they all imitated him.
Carl Yastrzemski was elected to The Hall of Fame on his first ballot in 1989. Yastrzemski has never liked being a celebrity and has often stayed away from public appearances.
