Christina Applegate undergoes double mastectomy surgery

Christina Applegate who is mostly known for playing Rachel’s sister in Friends has had to undergo double mastectomy surgery. She said that she had a tough choice to face since being diagnosed with cancer earlier this month.

Doctors had found cancer in just one of her breasts, but she felt that it was the right decision to have both removed after she had tested positive for the BRCA1 breast cancer gene.

Applegate’s mother is also a breast cancer survivor; she felt that considering her family history she would have a double mastectomy as it was the most logical option. She said “I didn’t want to go back to the doctors every four months for testing. I just wanted to be rid of this whole thing.”

Christina Applegate is now 100 percent clear of cancer, thankfully it has not spread. She said that have got everything out.

Applegate had the surgery three weeks ago and has said “I’ve laughed so much in the last three weeks. I love living, and I really love my life, and I knew that from this moment on it was only going to be good. Yeah, I’ll face challenges, but you can’t get any darker than where I’ve been.”

Applegate has said that she will have the best boobs in the nursing home.
