Shawn Johnson has won her first Gold for her balance beam routine at the Beijing Olympics. Johnson put in a defiant routine one that no one could match; apart from just a small step on her landing she did not put a foot wrong.
Shawn Johnson scored 16.205 points; it was not a definite of her getting gold on the event. The American had to wait for teammate Nastia Liukin skitter to follow with her routine first. Liukin’s score popped up at 16.025, Johnson smiled as she knew she had finally won gold.
Shawn Johnson left it until the final night of the gymnastics competition until she won the gold, but I bet it was the best night of her life, one that her teammates will help her celebrate.
Johnson had hoped to win the gold in the all-around competition, but it was her teammate who took the gold with herself taking silver.
