Dark Knight Sequel: Warner waiting for Nolan’s story

When Christopher Nolan made his first Batman movie, Batman Begins I thought that I would be watching just the same old rubbish like the other Batman movies. How wrong I was, it was the best Batman movie I had seen. That was until The Dark Knight was made, this has now become the second biggest movie of all time.

It stands to reason that there will be talk of a Dark Knight Sequel, but we have to wonder what the holdup is. Well we know that Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are all up for a new Batman movie but they are waiting on Nolan before any decision is made on their third movie.

Warner are waiting for Christopher Nolan to come up with a story and a plan, but the studio have said that he is taking a well deserved break and is on vacation.

Charles Rovan, producer of The Dark Knight has said “he comes back; we will see how he feels.” Until Nolan returns we will just have to read all the rumors as to what the story will be as well as who the cast will be.

  1. i think that they should definately make a third one and make it so kids and older kids can watch it.Not too much menace or violence. That just makes the kids mad for not being able to go watch it.I am not saying no violence or gore at all,but just lay of the extreme psycopathic maniac stuff!

  2. One of the fundamental reasons why Dark Knight is the best batman movie ever lies in the name itself. Dark. The closer it is to the comics, the better is usually is, which goes for almost any comic book movie. With Dark Knight, it was a wonderful adaptation of the dark issues in our society today -talk about timing - while keeping Bruce Wayne’s character natural and true. Remember, Batman was never a superhero. No supernatural powers. Although a billionaire, a determined and focused individual at heart destined to sustain the sincerity and just among all of us. So, we can all relate to him in some way. Yet being humans, we all have our character flaws and shame…like Bruce Wayne. This is why Batman for me will always be more profuond and believable than any superman, x men, spiderman, etc. So, if there’s a sequel, it must undoubtedly be dark and perhaps darker. This is why the 1st Batman was sensational. Dark and revolutionary for an action film at that time. Joel Schumacher’s adaptations were a colorful and flowery insult to Batman. Personally I think the sequel should be the 1st R-rated batman film. The closer it portrays Batman’s world and Gotham…the stronger it connects to the viewers, and the more believers it will make out of us. Granted this will annoy the youngsters out there but lets be real, theyll find a way to see it anyhow. More importantly it will transcend the portrayal of Batman beyond special effects, gimmicks, action seuqnces, etc. It will cement it is at the one of the most amazing cinematic displays of our current world issues while keeping a hero that we all believe in at the center.

  3. Personally, I would NOT want to see these movies made “kid-friendly.” Batman was meant to be “dark.” Just look how patheic and idiotic the other Batman franchise got as soon as they lost the dark Burton feel and moved on to trying to be funny.

Just because it was based on a comic book, does not mean that it has to be light-and-fluffy.

  4. In my own opinion, The Dark Knight was the greatest movie of ALL TIME. Nolan did an amazing job at portraying those comic characters and making them seem more REALISTIC, such as to make the AUDIENCE relate to them more. So to get it straight, Nolan needs and MUST create a batman 3, it MUST go on. There are individuals EVERYWHERE on youtube immitating the BATMAN and the JOKER, while some are doing immpressions and so on… This DARK KNIGHT is the best thing that EVER hit theaters, and when the movie comes out on DVD, it shall be the greatest film out there!
I also believe that if there is a Catwoman and Riddler in the next film, i will jump for joy. Catwoman has always been my favorite crook, and im sure nolan could get a perfect character for that role… after all he did find Heath, and he was an AMAZING joker.

So keep up the fantastic work Nolan, trust me..someday all your work will pay off and you shall be the greatest director of all time.
