
The Mets might start to hear the word collapse a lot in the future, after the team squander a 7-0 lead against the Phillies. The Mets lost 8-7 loss in 13 innings, this is nothing compared to the seven-game lead that they blew in the final 17 games last year.
Some fans are trying to bury their head in the sand but the similarities are there for all to see, it was made even worse as the Phillies, the new NL East leaders, are the opponents.
New York have had won 11 of the last 14 games, they got off to a great start with Philadelphia. They had a comfortable margin after 3½ innings, but we all know how fast a game can change, and it did just that.
Pedro Martinez faltered and that was the start of The Mets throwing away their lead. Now fans are hoping that this was just a small bump in the road, and hope that their team will not repeat the performance like last season.
