
It seems that the threat of Hurricane Gustav could affect the Republican National Convention. The broadcast community is having to rethink their plans on the planned coverage of the RNC, which was all set to take place from September 1-4 in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Joanna Burgos, a spokesperson for the RNC has been telling the trade magazine that the convention’s organizers are watching the path of Gustav carefully; they might even have to delay the start of the convention, if it looks as though it will impact where the Republican National Convention is set to take place.
If this was the case, then it would not be the first time that John McCain has had to alter his plans. Back in 2000, McCain had to postpone his announcement to run for President as a result of the crisis in the Balkans.
