7.5 to 8 km! I had exactly the same feeling! I was walking that stretch and imagined later that it must have been my slow walking pace but could be something else to it.

Thanks for the info Chan, I had thought there were only 5,000 people. And great that you got your time! ..and for me too the last kilometers were really long :) I seriously wonder if the markings were always correct, took an eternity from 7.5 to the 8km mark. One more thing for the organizers to fix next time!

Hope you are enjoying your fall runs where ever you are, at least here in Paris the weather's been real nice, have had some really nice runs!

Congrats on the time, that's brilliant. The final count for Paris on the LED counter at the Nike store was 7,000 + a few hundreds when I went back last week.

I eventually got my time. The staff at the store couldn't help me but I got hold of an email id. They gave me my time: 1.04.00 - I relaxed too much after reaching 7.5km in 44:46!

Oh yeah, and to the original question, I was 140th, 43:59. At least the position was a nice surprise, time was what it was on the tough course.

Sorry about missing your time Chan, my results can be seen there now. Not all the scores visible to all though.

Re: You're right about being there late to pick up the chip (on Sat). The coach line they could have arranged a bit better though since the french just don't know how to queue and I must have been there before the masses since I ran quite fast and didn't spend that much time before leaving..

Q: does anyone know how many runners there were? And worldwide?

Hi. I ran Paris as well but it sucks that I don't have an official time. Now the site just says Desole. So no new uploads apparently. I am going to the Nike store today afternoon with my chip no. and Tee no. and ask them.

Re: your points above, 2.5 hr wait on Saturday is but natural. I collected earlier in the week, it took me 5 minutes. And the concert was not bad, so maybe hanging around instead of trying to take the first coach back would have been better. Just saying, I know you knew best what you wanted to do.

Well I don't know exactly because Nike looks to have failed to make the data available by the deadline 0:00 on 3rd Sept. that they promised (already a bad joke).

pros and cons (mainly about the Paris run):

+inspirational happening overall
+good t-shirt
+nice service on course and after

-2.5hr wait on the day before to get the chip and the shirt from the nike shop on champs elysee..
-the 40 min cart was going back and forth; was ahead for a long time after I passed it after 1km, then it passed me at like 30 km/h speed in an uphill at 5km and never saw it again..
-A lot of outdated information everywhere; start at 14, 14:30, 14, 14:30, ... , checkpoints way different from what was shown in the leaflet
-they cannot get the results online by a ridiculous deadline raceday+3days!
-I almost made the first coach ride back from the competition site but the organizers could not make sure there was some kind of queue and the froggs sure can't make one by themselves so I finally (barely) made the fourth coach ride..

Also (as a sidenote) the route was a bit too tough imo. The winners time was easily the worst in any of the races, 34+ mins, on average well over 2 minutes worse than in the other races, close to 5 minutes worse than the best time overall?

But seriously, it cannot take 3 days to get the data online, and no useful info on the website about the progress or anything!!
