It looks as though the Cubs expect Carlos Zambrano to miss the only one start following an MRI. The test revealed that Zambrano has an inflammation and rotator cuff tendinitis in his right shoulder. He has had an anti-inflammatory injection, which should hopefully ease the pain.
The Cubs had though that after Zambrano finished playing early after five innings, the injury would not be that serious. Zambrano has already been on the disabled list in June, with a similar problem.
The Cubs will be missing two-fifths of their rotation in the next few days. Rich Harden, who pitched last Friday, will not be starting until Wednesday in St. Louis.
