Beverly Hills Chihuahua No.1 at Box Office grossing $29 million

Disney was not expecting much from their new movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, but the live action animal comedy did better than expected. The movie made it to No.1 at the Box office, knocking Eagle Eye of the top spot and grossing $29 million at the same time.

The movie features the voice talents of Drew Barrymore and George Lopez. Disney expected the movie to gross $20 to $25 million, so $29 million is very welcome for Disney. Beverly Hills Chihuahua was the best October debut of any Disney picture.

Chuck Viane, president of domestic distribution for Disney said “We don’t think we could have done any better with a market that had seven movies opening.”
