Nobel Prize 2008: medicine winners announced

The Nobile Prize 2008 have been announced the winners are Harald zur Hausen of Germany and the French researchers Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier. They have won the top prize in medicine.
Both Barré-Sinoussi, of the Institut Pasteur in Paris along with Montagnier, director of the World Foundation for AIDS Research and Prevention, were both cited for their discovery of human immunodeficiency virus. This is better known as HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS.
German, Zur Hausen was cited for discovering the human papilloma viruses, this is the disease that causes cervical cancer, the second most common form of cancer for women.
