
MLB Network and ESPN have announced that they are to show the entire 39 World Baseball Classic games, this will start from March 5 to 23 in 2009. ESPN will show 23 of the classic games from the tournament; this includes semifinal and final games, across ESPN and ESPN2.
The MLB Network is a new basic cable channel, and is hoped to pull in an audience of 50 million once released on January 1, 2009. MLB Network will show the other 16 of the classic games
The second run of the Classic will open next year with the Asian bracket in the Tokyo Dome on March 5, and will finally close on March 23, at the Dodger Stadium.
