CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was back on our screens last night; this was one of the sad episodes where the major part of the story was to do with a central character. Tonight resolves the shooting of Warrick Brown, played by troubled actor Gary Dourdan.
The episode resolves May’s season finale, it is a sad day to see one of the main characters leaving the show. I am left sadden to know that CSI will never be the same again, how can as Warrick Brown was such a strong character.
There is a little light for this episode, as Sara Sidle, played by Jorja Fox is back, but only for a few episodes. Tonight we watched as the team tried to work out who Brown’s killer was, but that ends in tears as the killer confessing to another CSI member and also gets shot in the process.
Will you miss Warrick Brown, or does the show need this kind of shake-up?

Yes, I am soooo very saddened by this departure. He was partly the reason why I watched the show. How can you let someone go (maybe you should of had him in a coma and then eventually come back in the future). I do not know how the show is going to be now. I am very reluctant to watch the show.
And now, since Grissom is leaving as well. How can you do that? Aren’t you afraid that the show will just deteriorate?
I really wish the show the best. In any event, the episode of Warrick’s departure had to be one of the saddest things I have watched in a long time. THANK YOU FOR IT.

I’m 60!! Old - white - Female!! Well………not too old! The one thing that was keeping me younger, what his BLUE eyes!! Oh and ………… HIS acting. Actually, I came to love his character. His struggles and gambling addiction and the way he faced those problems. I enjoyed his character’s interaction with his cast mates. I do hope that this young man is quickly picked up and not forgotten. I will not forget him NOR THIS SHOW! I just hope that I do get to see those lovely eyes again.
Mr. Dourdan, I wish you PEACE & POTENTIAL!!

My wife and I always wait for the CSI as one of our top shows. But with the death of Warrick and Grissom leaving CSI my wife said and I join her that we probably will not watch CSI. My wife and never shed tears on any show but this CSI episode seams so real that if affect us deeply that we have to turn off the TV and go bed talking sleeplessly. There got to be some reason?

I love this show and really upset his charachter has been killed off. If Grissom leaves to that’s it for me. I have watched this show since the beginning and can’t see it being the same without the original characters.

I’ve had mixed feelings about this show all along but never because of Gary Dourdan’s character. Warrick’s was one of the best roles, frankly, and Dourdan played it exceptionally well. He is an attractive and talented actor and his personal life problems should in no way diminish appreciation of his talents. I hope he fares well.
If Peterson goes also it’s going to take some really great replacement actors to fill their shoes. I hope the show survives - the Vegas location is interesting and the other actors are quite good - and (LOL) we always need more crime shows!

I have been a CSI fan from the beginning. I agree that I’m not sure whether I will continue to watch it or not. I wasn’t upset when Jorja Fox left, but Warrick Brown and Grissom are my favorite characters. Now that Warrick is dead and William Peterson is leaving, I think its just a sign of the demise of this show. All the actors are good, but when you kick off two of the leads, I just don’t think it can survive.
Do we know the real reason that Gary Dourdan left?

I am so sad and upset with the writers of CSI. I feel that they could have handled his leaving in a different way. They could have found him shot, left him in a coma and in grave condition and gave him the opportunity to return when he got things back on track in his personal life. Gary was one of the main reasons I watched the show, now I am not so sure that I will in the future. They are destroying a good show and I feel that the show is heading for it’s end with them killing off a strong character such as Warrick Brown, William Peterson leaving, Jorja Fox leaving, and no it will not be the same. The show has had an excellent run and will live on in syndication, but only the shows with the original castmembers will be the ones that everybody will remember. I wish Gary much luck, love, blessings, and success in his future endeavors. I can’t wait to see him in future projects.

Yes, I am very upset. He is the reason why I started watching CSI in the first place. I dont think that he should have died. I probably will not be watching CSI again!!!

While I certainly enjoyed Dourdan’s role and the show itself, it does seem that the basic format of the show has run its course and is due for a change. I mean, how many more scenarios can they come up with to keep the show new and exciting with the existing cast of characters? Even Grissom has started to get a bit tiresome. I say “enjoy the reruns” and let the platform burn out rather than fade away - I think this is best.

Totally saddened by the death of Warrick. I don’t watch any of the other spin-offs and have stayed true to the original CSI but not sure how CBS thinks they are going to improve this show…there is a reson that they have been one of the top crime shows for the past eight years and it was the chemistry between all of the characters. It will be very hard to throw shomeone new into the mix…look at the episodes with Leiv Shreiver…not the same at all and really noticable that the whole team was not there.
Thank you to Gary for playing a truly strong and complex character for us for all these years and can’t wait to see you again soon in my living room…muuyaawww (kisses)

Ohhh yes, I am going to miss Warrick so much. I loved watching him in his role and the physical attraction between him and Catherine. He has the most beautiful eyes too. It was a very sad show to watch saying good-bye to Warrick. The show won’t be the same for sure. I do wish he had stayed, but I wish him the very best in the future. Warrick, most definitely, I will miss you!

I have never watch a show or a character (before CSI Vegas and Warrick Brown) that has actually become a part of my own life. The show is so impacting and Warrick is such a down to earth, I can relate to this persons life type of person. Warrick, you have battled so many demons through your years on CSI,(both onscreen and off) and I have watched you grow from a shy, soft spoken young man to a determined, self-assured yet still a bit questionable when it came to trusting your heart to someone. Yet you finally took that step and I belieive Grissom was the first who you opened yourself up to. You two had such a special relationship (from the beginning of the series- with all your ups and downs) to you saying “If I could have picked my own father, I would have picked him- referring to Grissom.” And Grissom thought so much of you. He was not just your supervisor, your mentor or your teacher, he over the period of 8 years became a man who loved you so much and although never said outloud “I believe with every fiber of my being that Grissom thought of you as much much more than a son” He loved you so. You also shared your heart with Catherine (who undoubtably loved you in a very special way, and Nick (who you meant to the world to and you felt the same I know, and then there’s Sara (who like you she also guarded her heart for fear of getting hurt- but she too like you let that wall down and began to feel love..You held a piece of her heart), and saving the best for last: there’s Grissom: He without a shadow of a doubt lost a son when the night that you died in his arms. You and Grissom have really been through some situations. I don’t know which one of you had the hardest head but it always worked out in the end. I have to say that I do agree with the statement that: “Grissom taught you well.” and I give you so much credit for agreeing to that as well. Of all those left behind, I worry most for Nick and Grissom. Their hearts have been destroyed and I don’t know if either will find a way to cope, a way to survive that awful emptiness inside them. I too lost a friend that day. I watched in horror as you tried to desperately to tell Grissom that it was the “undersherriff” who shot you as “HE” stood behind you and Grissom, waiting, hand on his gun to see if you were going to whisper his name. Tears poured down my face asI watched Grissom beg you to fight “Fight for me” he said. …Then in the blink of my eyes you were GONE…I said “NO!!!!!!!!!” “Please NO!!!!!! From then on it is a blur of emotions..I watched Grissom at your funeral..He was trying so hard to speak…My heart broke for him (again)… You were loved by many Warrick and I will never forget your beautiful smile and those captivating green eyes. And the same goes to Gary. I wish you nothing but the very best. There is not a single person in this world who hasn’t made a mistake in life so don’t be hard on yourself and know that you have many of us still rooting (me praying) for you to overcome your daily demons and pull your life back together and I want to see that beautiful face back on the tv screen. I did a memorial video in honor of Warrick.
