
Edie Adams, the actress and singer has died aged 81, on Wednesday. The sexy blonde had won a Tony Award for her role as Daisy Mae on Broadway. Adams died in a Los Angeles hospital from pneumonia and cancer.
After Adams had graduated from the Juilliard School of Music, she had hoped to pursue a career as an opera singer. However she went down a different path and found fame for her sketches with Kovacs, as well as her roles on Broadway.
Edie Adams was born Elizabeth Edith Enke, in Kingston, Pa., in 1927. She is survived by her son, Joshua Mills.
