The BBC said that both Ross and Brand are temporarily suspended while they perform an internal investigation into the incident. BBC Director General Mark Thompson, applogised to Sachs for the prank calls. Thompson said that the pair will not be able to broadcast until the investigation was complete.

Jonathan Ross has the most to lose from this, as he is paid a huge sum of money from the BBC. Ross was due to start filming for Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, it is not certain if the recording will go ahead, or what will replace it on Friday night.

Some people really need to get a sense of humour. Knowing how Ross & Brand are famous largely for their comic skills, I would’ve thought it would be obvious they were kidding. If they are sacked it will be really silly just because some old actor over-reacted & got in a flap over a joke.

PETA are standing by Russell Brand through all this! We’ve had loads of calls asking for us to remove him from our literature (he’s a vegetarian), but if Andrew Sachs has accepted his apology, that’s good enough for us!
