Is X Factor Fixed: Daniel through and Austin out?

I am starting to lose it with X Factor, how can Daniel still be in and a great talent like Austin be booted out. The show is called X Factor and not Sympathy Factor, which is what it is every time Daniel goes through, he sings like Brian Connelly.
When it was down to Austin and Rachel, I had to admit it was going to be a tough one. Once they had both sung their songs, I thought that Austin had done enough. I knew that when Louis Walsh had the final say he would choose Rachel, as he seems to do everything to go against Simon Cowell.
The judges keep saying that Rachel still has a lot to give, but her voice just gets to me, I think that she is not a great talent. As for Austin, he has a great voice, one of the best in the competition.

i cant belive austin has gone, daniel should not be in the comp, and rachel was definatly the poorer act. Where as astin has a fab voice (hot to) i think he will go far.x
I couldn’t agree with you more. Just because the man has a dead wife doesn’t earn him the right to play on people’s consciences throughout this competition. Austin was, in my opinion, one of the most talented people in the competition, and one whose music I would actually purchase. What a travesty!
I’m sick of hearing about Daniel’s bereavement…yes it’s sad but it just comes across now that he is blatantly using it as a cheap trick to get sympathy and stay in the show. He can sing but there’s not a chance in hell he’s got the X factor. You’d be impressed if you heard him at your local pub on the karaoke but selling out Wembley? Please….he should never have gotten into the final 12 – it should’ve been Suzy instead as she was the better singer.
Please get Daniel off this show……its a fix

I can’t believe either the public vote or the final vote of the judges! It is Eoghan and Daniel that should have been the two to battle out at the end. They are just not good enough. I truly believe this contest is fixed.

Daniel shouldn’t have even gone through to the live shows – he’s a nice guy but not a great singer. But obviously some persentage of the public like him. I’m not sure if its a fix or not, Ruth should not have been bottom 2 last week and it was publicised that her phone vote number was mis-advertised. All I can say is X-Factor doesn’t reflect everybody’s view. Austin SHOULD have gone through instead of Rachel – I love Rachel but Austin is a better performer. Neither of them should have gone tonight – DANIEL should have gone – he’s no popstar and he ain’t got the X-Factor!
i hate louis!!!! i want daniel and rachel out…Austin was the biggest talent this year and i think its so unfair that he got kicked out…. i hope he will make it anyway and show louis what a twit he is!!!

Well i’m utterly gutted that austin has been thrown off, each week i thought he was going to be the dark horse to WIN the competition, either him or laura anyway- then there’s people like daniel, who lets face it, obviously plays on the sympathy vote, thats what got him saved last week because ‘the song was from the heart to his wife’, it was obvious he would choose a song to his wife, its all a shambles if you ask me n i truly hope austin does get the chance he deserves, if not off simon cowell then by someone else who recognises his pure talent! Don’t even know why I’m writing this it’s so sad, but Ive come to the conclusion that the judges know who they want in the final and thats how they use their votes at the end. They know Daniel will go soon they all liked Rachel from the start God knows why because she’s been rubbish! and their votes reflect that.

I used to work for the x factor production team and can say the whole thing is completely scripted. Most of the acts are previously known to the record industry and planted into the show. Even the judges comments are scripted. Dont fall for it – its not real.
I’m in my fifties, but I honestly believe tonight’s vote was a travesty of justice. Austin is one of the best talents that we may have seen in years, but the X-factor viewers and more to the point the judges have possibly robbed a real artist of a chance to make it big.
Like everyone I often disagree with the decision, but I can’t say I’m bothered about the last three that went out, as they were never going to win, unless there is a cospiracy. The same should be true of Daniel, Eoghan, and Rachael. But Austin going – what a joke!
Overall the competition is very strong, but the bottom line is the winner gets a recording contract and if you close your eyes and lsiten to the show you will know the decision was wrong. Daniel is a bar singer, Rachael just shouts and Eoghan can’t sing. And I’m also sick of the sob stories. It should be about talent and not who has had the worst past.
Louis said that Austin isn’t connecting with the public and Danni and Cheryl followed suit. Have they forgotten the boot camp where Austin stole the show? Have their comments had an influence on the voting?
I really hope Austin makes a success and shoves it to the x-factor, like Lemar did with the BBC show a few years back.
I totally agree with the majority of your comments. Austin is a great young talent and having talent in a singing show isn’t just about the singing. You have to be an all round performer and have the image too and Aiustin definitely has that. Daniel, in my opinion doesn’t have that, although he can sing. I’m shocked that Rachel has gone as far as she has, she has a great voice but makes mistakes and for one, I don’t like her hip-hop attitude and for Egohan, I feel people like him because his young and cute and that isnt what the show is about. I can’t believe how all the proper talented contestants are getting slightly unfair ratings than the ones who aren’t as good for all the wrong reasons. I just hope JLS, Laura White and Diana Vickers at to the finals because they’re the true talented ones but also have the right music industy images. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

I am really sad that austin had to leave… thought he was awsome… unbelievable that he did not get enough votes…
Another thing that has pissed me off… how some of the contestants have maked it through to the final show when there were clearly better singers…like for example, Hannah. I don’t know if the show is fixed but I do feel that some of the judges as mentors are unfair to some of their singers, sometimes it shows they’ve favourites from the start so therefore put more effort into those individuals. I felt Dannii wasn’t too keen on Rachel nor the other black girl. ( I do apologise, I have forgotten her name.) in the first week and it was clear that Louis preferred Girl Band to Bad Lashes but overall he didn’t care for either just JLS. If you’re a mentor is doesn’t matter if you’ve favourites because that is natural, it happens but you have to put 100% into all the contestants and treat them the same like if the were all your favourite and let the public decide. This is where I feel people start to believe the show could be fixed. Sometimes the phone lines, producers, directors, editors and the rest of the crew, they’ve probably all got favourites and their is BIG money into it so maybe behind the sense they’re could be a lot going on than the public see and in unfortunately there isn’t anything anybody can do about it, apart from watch, wait and enjoy the show. The main question is…
Does the public votes really count? (In my opinon) NOPE!!!

The truth is that these talent shows have a very poor success rate. Will Young, Girls Aloud and Lemar (and he didn’t win his show) are probably the only real success stories through years of Pop Idol, X-factor and others.
Simon obviously knows the industry but he is on a winner regardless of the outcome. I feel the public will finally get tired of these shows unless real talent starts to win through. There are a few who could make a go of it this year, but unfortunately one of them went home tonight.

austin should not of gone. i think that the judges are getting rid of there competition so that it would be more easy for one of there acts to win, which is totally unfair on the real talent which is austin. And how many chances does racheal want and need to shine through. cos i thought the x factor meant that you can shine through in all genres, not just your comfort genre, aint that the whole point of the themed weeks. i also dont understand how rachael can mess up her words and get away with it, wheres austin as done good throughout and he is the one that gets kicked off. i wouldnt be surprised to find out it was a fix to be honest.
Ive resigned myself to the fact that X factor is rigged! rigged to eyeballs! The fone-in voting system is just a cash generator to pay for the “winners” record deal and line simon cowells pockets even more. Louis actually said just austin sang that he could be in trouble tonight due to his song choice. Do we think its a coin’? nah!!!

Theres no way on earth that Daniel is a better singer than Austin, dont care what anyone says. Dont think people are voting for him its got to be a fix, he was rubbish this week. Ok so he didnt use his sob story this week but he couldnt have used it better last weeks sing off!!!! can someone explain the script that the judges are looking BEFORE they make a comment? from this alone, i believe that the show is fixed..
HOWEVER, if it is really fixed, i cannot get the logic why the producers will choose to kick AUSTIN out instead of rachel or daniel, considering the looks, talent, and appeal that Austin possess which can obviously get more “votes” or “fans” compared with the two.

Seriously, if you vote you do. I think they do go by votes, not everyone shares your opinions, thats why the people you like go out! Yes, I really likes Austin (like I said up there), and I did vote for him. But alot of people just sit and watch without voting.
I don’t think it’s fixed, but I’m fed up of Daniel, yeah. But I do think Eughon can sing, remember he’s only 16, give him a chance. Could you get up and do any better?
I can’t believe Austin has gone either, he was by far my favourite! I do think there are some pretty good competitors this year but in terms of who will sell records it was only goign to be between Austin, JLS and Diana in my opinion – they’re just a bit different from the rest! With Austin’s tone, if you put him with some sort of rock band he would have been awesome. I really don’t know what DAniel and Eughon are still doing in the competition really; if they win their career will alst about a second.
Couldn’t agree with you more! Austin should still be in the competition, I feel gutted for him. Daniel lost his wife at a young age. That’s really sad but I am sorry, it isn’t about a sympathy vote it is about talent and music. Daniel is a hotel lounge act. He’s never going to win and keeping him in is not fair on those with REAL talent.

I was disgusted that Austin was ousted.I cannot stand Rachel.She has a very rude manner. In her interview with Holly, she said “I want to go back to my REAL friends”.Why is the competition not about talent-yes rachel does have a good voice but she hasn’t blown us away any week. She has had a hard time in life but hasn’t everybody at some stage. She has five kids but that is due to her own foolishness.Austin has been consistent throughout the whole competition and Rachel hasn’t.Therefore, why in the casting vote did Louis vote for Rachel. I am boycotting X factor!
I have to agree here with what the majority of you are saying. Yes, Daniel is a nice bloke with an ok voice, but definitely not a reat performer and definitely does not have the X Factor.
Yes, his story is a sad one, we are all sympathetic, but it certainly does not mean he should stay in this competition. The same goes for Rachel, loud but mediocre at best..hardly a `raw talent` as Louis seems to think.
As for Austin…one of the best and most promising talents this show has ever seen over the last few years. How he could have been booted out last night is farcical and certainly gives weight to the theory that its all fixed. Austin was a potential winner and could have had a very promising career…still can I would hope. Lets hope he doesnt let the opinions of these so called experts on the panel deter him from carrying on with his dream.
As for Louis..what a PRAT! Yet again, he makes the wrong decision..for the 2nd week running incidentally.

….and to follow up on what I said earlier. I think Cheryl Cole is totally clueless and should not be judging people on this competition. It is mildly understandable that Danni should have voted for Daniel , as she is mentoring him, but Cheryls comments showed a real lack of any musical knowledge at all. All this rubbish about connecting with the audience. What??? Austin is a great performer and has a very strong stage presence. Thats obvious from watching him, and if she or Louis cant see this then they they certainly should not be judges on this competition.
It has become a joke now this year, when strong, credible performers like Austin get sent away and the likes of Rachel, Daniel and Ruth keep coming back.
It will be interesting to see who they sacrifice next week to keep Daniel in it..Laura, Eoghan, Diana???
Maybe a new panel of judges for next year?? Bring back Neil Fox, Pete Waterman and Nikki Chapman. They knew what they were on about in my opinion.

I hate Austin, I felt he was smary and looked like he thought he was going to win the whole time. He rubs a lot of the public up the wrong way, I just didn’t click with him.
But I do agree that also Daniel shouldn’t be there still, and I defiantely want JLS to win.
Did anyone notice that in Austins weekly update that everyone including Will Young said he wasnt connected then after his peformance the judges said the same thing? weird or what?, then what happens? he ends up having to sing to stay against Rachel who quite honestly is crap, gobby and should have gone last week, let alone this week, then Louis who had final say suprise suprise voted Austin out, of course to do the exact opposite of Simon, but if it wasnt fixed why did Simon not praise Austin for singing so well instead of saying how much he liked Rachel? its not fixed-the whole thing is tactical.louis voted off scott and kept daniel because his band JLS are not that good-so hes eliminating the competition. thats why he got rid of austin. if the show is left with the very bad daniel, the equally bad eoghan and jls well theyll win. thats all this is-voting to win from lois walsh.

Lemar (i don’t even know this guy) Girls Aloud and Will young are not the only ones to make a success, Shayne Ward is doing great, so is Leona, i can’t really see Leon going anywhere though, and second for the person that said they read a script for their comments, if you didn’t notice, they write stuff down on a sheet of paper whilst they perform! No they don’t just have that pen in their mouths for nothing dear!
Secondly i believe that the votes are NOT fixed, why would the producers decide to put Austin and Rachel in the bottom two if the judges like them both, it would make more sence to put Ruth and Daniel in the bottom two.. X-Factor is an absolute joke. How Leon won over Rhydian last year is anyone’s guess. I also despise the sheer arrogance of the producers, with constant rhetoric from Cowell & Co such as “You’re going to be Christmas number one” etc.
For all these reasons, I sincerely hope that Daniel goes on to win the show. The fact that a satirical pop single by Peter Kay beat Leon to number one says it all really…
Forget Daniel – at least he can stay in key….what about Eoghan?!!! God not to be harsh but he is clearly still a child, can barely hold a note if he so much as moves and has about as much charisma as my local paper boy..clearly he needs a few more years to develop. So how someone like Austin, who is a truly talented vocalist, can go out is beyond me.

To those of you who think we are being unfair on Daniel I would say a big NO, we are not. I think he should have gone the week before. It was only because Louis got all emotional because the song was for his dead wife! He should have gone then in my opinion. When singers with more talent and potential go before singers like Daniel it makes a mockery of the whole competition and pushes the important issues into the background. Did anyone else notice how shocked Louis was when Daniel got through last week? He could not hide his surprise.

I truly believe this is about the judges getting their own acts through whether they have talent or not. Laura is very good….so is Ruth. Eoghan and Daniel should go…they are PANTS! What, is the programme scared to be called ageist?!
The amazing thing is that Laura and Ruth both put two of the best performances of the entire show so far, betting than anything Eoghan or Daniel ever did to date! Everyone prior to the sing-off was so lacklustre last night; perhaps Mariah Carey songs are just not suitable for other people to cover? And what in God’s name was wrong with MC herself? I suspect this was an automaton in her image. She barely moved a muscle in face or body! Didn’t anyone else notice how immobile the woman is! Is she all right?
And, finally, most glaring of all, who voted for Gobby Rachel? She sang out of tune through the entire song! Unforgivable! Shame on you!!
On reflection: Yes, Rachel was voted for because she cried….boo hoo…at least she can do that in tune…!€
We were so disgusted at the show last night that we have vowed not to watch further. If we are to believe that the phone vote is not rigged then Daniel must remain by the sympathy vote and Rachael voted for by all those who feel it is ok for an ex crack addict, con who keeps bleating about her kids some of which are in care to succeed in a lucrative career whilst others who it seems have not done any harm are shown the door.
I was amazed that when it came to Walsh to deliver the casting vote he did not vote Ruth so it would go to the public vote. Obviously it was Walsh’s intention to get rid of who he felt was the most competition.

This show is not a show to find the best of British talent, and Walsh proved that for me, and everyone I’ve spoken to , by voting off Laura White, one of the bestthat has ever been on the show.

X Factor has always been one of my fave show where id even stay in on a saturday night to watch it. But not no more i think it is the biggest fix ever. I believe that the x factor mentor’s should not also be the judges, then they would not be biased and would not vote in the hope they will be the winners. It is obvious they will vote for their own act and try to get rid of the good competion. It is not a fair system and should be changed. Yes, they can comment on their performance, but not be the ones to judge and ultimately say who goes.
A referee in a football match can’t be from one of the teams playing, they have to be completely nuetral, so come on guys change the format of this show before it goes down the drain, with too much good talent being lost along the way, by this utterly ridiculous way of voting, it needs to be unbiased, fair, unselfish and above all with more professional decent behaviour to these very brave ordinary people who bare their souls and take nasty comments week after week, and if it were not for them there would not be a show at all. They need a bit more respect and praise for doing what they do.

I too can sing better than anyone left in the comp and never got through the first audition which was in a hotel and judged by an ignorant 18 year old student ON HIS OWN! .if you are entering this show be aware you will not be judged by the panel as you see them on TV.Time to kill this show vote JEDWARD.

It is obvious that the X/factor is fixed. After I read a book called “Chart Throb”, our family stopped voting. The book is about a contest like X/factor, and describes how the contestants are set up to lose: giving them a song which is wrong for their voice (how often do we hear the judges say that, when the contestants are supposed to be mentored and have a voice coach); given weird clothes to wear; or made to do a song and dance routine when no-one else does it.
I think Daniel is the most versatile singer in the competition, he deserves to win.
People simply don’t get it, its a singing competition and the best singer should go through.
