Joe Calzaghe’ win last night over Ray Jones Jr answered his critics in Madison Square Garden, showing that he was not dried up. This win has taken Calzaghe fights now to 46-0 (32 KOs), that is certainly impressive.
The fight went to the last round, and Joe Calzaghe won by a convincing unanimous point’s decision. Nothing can take it away from Jones, as he is an eight-time, four-weight champion. He did have a surprise in the first round though; as he suffered a first-round knockdown.
The points score on the night was, 118-109 to Joe Calzaghe. This was only his second fight on American soil, and I am sure that he upset a few people in the crowd. For a round by round report, visit The Independent
