Twilight Movie Premiere: Reviews look good

Filed Under: Movies | By: Peter Chubb

Movies like Twilight, which had its premiere last night have been hyped for so many months now, and it seems that the more the movie is hyped people don’t seem to care how bad a movie is. Thing is it does not matter how bad a movie is, if it is hyped to make big money, it usually does well.

We are not saying that Twilight is a bad movie, but it has to be something special to live up to all of its hype. The movie does look to become a big hit, but as yet there are no reviews, so we have to reserve judgement.

Twilight is based on a novel by Stephanie Meyer, and is about a vampire named Edward Cullen. He has a deep attraction to Bella Swan, an outcast high school student. The books in the serried have done very well and have a huge fanbase, so Twilight has to make a good transition to movie form.

if you go on different websites, you can find other reviews. I’ve seen mixed reviews, some say its good, some say its bad. Rottentomatoes said it was pretty bad. I personally think the movie will be O.K compared to the book, but what would I know? going to see it anyway :]

Just my opinion of course, but to let all of you know the truth about the movie, it was just a little too much of a continuation of the previous movie. Had I not seen Twilight, nor read all the books (several times) I wouldn’t have understood the intense relationship between Bella and Edward. Not enough was covered to make the audience understand the devastation that Bella would have suffered once Edward left. Otherwise, it was a great flick. I am a big fan, as are all my daughters. I find it annoying that people cap on the story line, when they don’t understand the positive messages that are left. True, she is very dependent on Edward; much more so that she should be. But what about the positive message sent when Edward only wants her happiness? He would accept her going with Jacob if that makes her happy and he would break his own heart by leaving her for her own good. Top that off with the abstinence, and you cannot deny there are some strong moral messages there.
