Tina Fey has shot to fame thanks to creating and starring in 30 Rock, where she has won a number of Emmys for. Fey has never opened up about her faint scar that is on her left side of her face, but she has decided to explain the story behind it.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, which will feature in the January issue Tina Fey says “It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it. When Fey was 5, she was playing in her front yard a stranger approached her, and then violently cut her cheek. Jeff Richmond, her husband said “She just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”
Tina Fey admitted that the experience was very traumatizing, but she worked hard to try and keep it from affecting her childhood. She added “I proceeded unaware of it. I was a very confident little kid. It’s really almost like I’m kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera.”
