Scrubs Season 8: Courtney Cox replaces Dr. Kelso

Filed Under: Television | By: Peter Chubb

We have been waiting a while but Scrubs is back, there were many who thought that season 8 would not make it, but ABC saved the day. The show has not lost any of its charm since the switch to ABC and the first two episodes proves just that.

The entire cast is back but there is a new member to the team, Courtney Cox. She has replaced Dr. Kelso, as Sacred Heart’s new chief of medicine; Kelso was forced to retire at the end of last season. It is great to see Cox return to comedy, and nice to see someone sexy playing the new chief.

The staff at Sacred Heart believes that Cox is a nice change of pace from Kelso; Dr. Cox is not convinced by her act and believes that she is just as evil as her predecessor. Kelso is still hanging around the hospital, so we still get to see him.

Courtney Cox will probably give Scrubs a big PR boost, and she’s pretty funny as well

I very much doubt it. No-one else can be hated and loved like Kelso as MD.

Season 8 has started in America, been shown as a double bill. Two new episodes every Tuesday. They have just aired episodes 9 & 10 (as of Feb 10th.) If you want spoilers you can go to IMDB. Or you can wait for Channel 4 to purchase the rights, whiich as of yet they haven’t. They no doubt will and I would be surprised if they didn’t start showing the season as early as the start of April/end of March (BBC and Sky One start new seasons of Bones, Prison Break and Heroes. Not to mention new Family Guy, Simpsons and American Dad.
