Barack Obama appears in comic Spider-Man: Collector Edition

President-elect Barack Obama will appear in a special issue of the Amazing Spider-Man #583. Marvel Comics have a five page special which features the two together. Spider-Man even punches the future president.

The story starts off with Spider-Man alto-ego Peter parker taking some photos of Obama inauguration; Parker notices that there are in fact two identical Obama’s. That is when Parker decides that Obama will need the help of Spider-Man.

Spidey decides that there is only one way to decide who the real President is, and that is with a game of basketball. When Spider-Man determines who the real Barack Obama is, he punches the imposter. This is the first time that a U.S. President has played a major role in their comics; normally they have only had walk-on-roles.
