US Celebrity Apprentice 2009 is certainly moving into its stride now, this week the teams create advertising for another big brand, while one of our celebs is fired. The fun begins when one of the celebrities stages a walkout, but how did it play out.
The Guardian explains that this week’s task was to create a four-page advertorial spread for Sports Illustrated magazine, and the ad is for a deodorant company. All of the celebrities get to have a chat with David Lee, an up-and-coming basketball player.
Melissa is the star, who is fired, and it is not that long before Rivers senior starts screaming and she decides that she has had enough and walks out. Both Melissa and Joan are seen getting in to a lift at the end of the show.

i’m quite upset & felt for Malisa Rivers, It was a dirty highschool games, Trump’s judgement was wrong & un clarity. I know it’s only TV show. But It happened daily in our daily life, especially in workplace, I experienced this game first hand. Your sweat & tears often been taken away It’s not what you know but who you know, Appearance, looks sells nowaday. Malisa, You are doing well, The dignity viewers saw that, Keep your principal & your dignity high. The world is on your side. Beauty only last so long. Intelligent & hard works will last forever.
Faithful Viewer.
I didn’t feel bad for Melissa at all. And her temper tantrum at the end? She’s been used to getting her way her entire life it seems, she’s incapable of accepting criticism even of a constructive variety, she interrupted Donald every time, and behaved like a child when she was let go. Sore Loser.
Melissa and Joan are very unprofessional. Much of the game is about raising money for a charity and if they don’t agree they should never have signed up for the show. I will not watch it again if Trump allows Joan to return. In the business world they would have already been fired for their unprofessionalism. Life and business are not always fair but you have to learn how to deal with it, even if it makes you feel like you’re in high school again. I really disrespect both of them now even more than I did before.
Glad to see both the River girls go. They are both unprofessional and must have the lime-light all the time or they pout like the spoiled brats that they are. Everything is “peachy” as long as they are in charge and running the show. Both are sore losers and their language is not very lady-like, but then remember it’s Joan and Melissa were talking about here.
Watching the Rivers’ come unglued was definitely entertaining. However Joan showed what a vicious old lady she has become. Calling Annie Duke (wife and mother of 4 kids) Hitler and a whore is a new low. Why are these two people considered celebrities. There talent is not even equal to Paris Hilton.
I think Annie should have been eliminated. Melissa was unfairly fired. The product was a brain child of Annie’s and she wanted all the credit, it backfired… she should have been eliminated.
I do not approve of the \”Flood of Filth\” name calling coming from Joan Rivers mouth, or the \”Grand Exit\” of either Melissa or Joan Rivers. I do feel that Brande was NOT a team leader or ever will be. Annie completely took over that assignment and set both Melissa and Brande up for failure. Brande is week. Melissa is not and should have stood her ground during the assignment, she knows how to do that. As far as the men go, Clint Black should have been gone long ago. I\’ve been a fan of his forever but I don\’t think I can even listen to his music anymore – If he treats his wife as he manages a team he should have been single years ago. Jesse James is finally coming out of his shell and I applaud him for not exploiting his wife for a game show – if she wants to donate to his charity, she will. Jesse is an intelligent man, but a man with a heart.
ummm – I am surprised and a lot of the comments. I don’t like Melissa – and I think a lot of people feel the same way – but let’s face it – she got screwed. Either Annie or Brande (my vote is Brande – she didn’t do her job) should have gone. However, Melissa’s and Joan’s behavior was (entertaining but) outrageous!
WHAT DID The Donald HAVE ON HIS NOTE?? It seemed to change the mind of the other guy.
Last – Clint Black is getting a bad rap. He did ask for input – and he got it! PLUS he used it – perhaps not 100% – but it was obviously was on mark since they WON! Jesse was ridiculous! You don’t sit there and pout and call someone names (like stupid) because they don’t take all of what you consider – perfect suggestions. He is far from perfect – and he has the personality of a wet dish rag… and the temperment of a 5 year old.
Just my thoughts.
I feel that Melissa should not have been fired it should have been Annie for this task as she so clearly told us she did almost everything!!!
I do feel that Melissa and Joan acted totally unaccetptable at the end and would not like to see either of them back.
They’re all a bunch of idiots for taking this competition so seriously! It’s really just a game show for charity’s sake. Why are they letting their personal images get so tarnished by allowing themselves to insult one another so viciously? What, for Donald Trump’s TV ratings? Trust me, he could afford to get knocked down a few pegs, especially after trying to exploit every revenue and fame generating medium under the sun. Why would celebrities, albeit marginal ones, want to destroy whatever dignity they may have had coming into this Magilla, let alone their own self respect, for someone who’ll reep the rewards of the train reck he’s put on the air, while being able to remain unscathed throughout the process? If anyone’s to blame here, it’s the Donald! You could see how he tries to egg on all the squabling sessions throughout the Boardroom scenes. He’s responsible for trying to turn a positive, donating to charity, into a huge negative, encouraging and enabling a forum for destroying the reputations of what were once decent human beings.
The Rivers’ showed their true colors, spoiled, no talent b1tches…no surprises here.
I think Brande should have been fired! Melissa got a bad deal and should have not been fired! Annie has had it in for Melissa ever since Joan said those unbelieveable remarks about her! “Hitler” Yikes! Annie is an ego maniac, in my opinion, and can do no wrong, just ask her. She has Donald Trump fooled! Both Annie and Brande were rude to Melissa as she tried to help in the task. It happened the week before, also. Mellissa was right when she said, “It is like High School.”
It will not be the same show without Joan and Melissa. They are both spoiled but, so what! It is what it is…they are Celebrities. Do you think Joan will come back? I think Donald would have to send her dozens of roses and a nice note begging her to come back. Clint needs some counseling.
We gotta know what was on that note!
This is the first, and will be the last time I watch this show. It was very entertaining until last night when the Donald and Cramer [the hump-back looking vulture] decised to sacrifice Melissa for ratings. Trust me, I don’t like the girl; what a whiner. They knew [and especially Cramer] that dumb Brandy should have been axed (Kelly Bundy is brighter tenfold), and they were gunning for her. But somewhere during the squabling, it occured to Donald that with Brandy gone the teams would be 3 against 2. It was then that he came up with the scheme to kill two birds with one stone; if he fires Melissa Joan would automatically walk off the show and solve his problem–leaving two people on each team. That was the scheme he passed onto Cramer in that note. I have lost the little ounce of respect I had for that Donald. His personal feelings has played out too much in this show. He fired Klohe because he didn’t like her; and Joan, he didn’t fire her when she was project manager because the tension between her and that deplorable Anne character was good for ratings. The only people that are truly worth remembering when the show is over are: Jesse, Khole, Herschel, Tionne, and Natalie. As to the most distestable person on the show, two words “arragant ass.” I would not use the black hat of that mongoose to swat a fly! or a CD from the shelf of a record store.
I do agree that Melissa and Joan could have show some class when they left the show.
Come on every body – why are you picking on Clint? Everything I read is how bad it is that Brande didn’t make the decisions or do any work – yet Clint was decisive – he used his teams idea’s – perhaps not totally – but would you? Jessee didn’t want “branding” – he just wanted pretty pictures (that he took) and didn’t feel the advertisement needed “branding”. Well – the executives obviously agreed with Clint – they won — so why is Clint getting the bad rap? He has a good outlook on how a team/project manager should work. You throw your ideas out and if the manager (equivalent to your boss) takes them fine – if not you go the distance with the manager – example – when Hershel wanted to “freeze” the yogart. Clint tried to tell him you CAN’T successfully freeze and thaw Yogart – he was right – (but he didn’t throw a fit or call Hershel stupid) …. hence – they lost. How long would you have your job if you called your boss stupid and acted like Jesse did? So – why are you so dead set against him. Jesse showed his true colors this week …. he’s a whiner and if he doesn’t get his way – he doesn’t want to play with the other kids!
This show is about raising money for charities. I dont think Trump has any intention of hiring the winner of this show. The two biggest earners are Annie and Brande. If you fire either of them the charities suffer. In past shows the Rivers contacted their “friends” for donations and were turned down. It just goes to show how popular these two shrews are in the industry. Their lack of production justifies their firing (I realize that Joan quit, but she should have been fired weeks ago).
Poker player and her follower Bunny Tail apparently know how to Scr… people! Melissa did not deserve to be fired…she did the work as given by the PM as well as give ideas…funny how they ignored her…hmmm part of their prey! Hope U both lose!
Poker player raised alot of $$$…Great!…BUT for a cause in another Country…isn’t ours suffering enough. Couldn’t the USA use it! Thanks but not thanks!
