David Cook’s (American Idol) brother dies of brain cancer

American Idol star David Cook lost his brother, Adam to brain cancer on Saturday. According to EW.com, David made the announcement at the Washington D.C. Race for Hope 5K, which raises money for finding a cure for brain cancer. Adam, 37 had been battling the disease for over 10 years.
David was born December 20th 1982 in Texas and is the middle of three brothers. Adam was the eldest of the three, and there is a younger brother Andrew. David shot to fame after winning American Idol with 56 percent of the votes in 2008.
He was said to have canceled dates due to family matters and wanted to be with Adam and say his goodbyes. At the Race for Hope awards speech, David said “Like everybody here, I’m affected by this disease,” “I couldn’t imagine… I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now.” So far David’s team has raised more than $51,000.
