Star Trek Fans: Angelina Jolie, Barack Obama, and Tom Hanks

I’m not personally a fan of Star Trek, but I know that there are many fans out there. The franchise has had eleven movies and five television series and has drawn many fans all over the world. You’d actually be surprised how many famous Trekkies there are.

According to nydailynews.com, many famous faces have admitted to being big Star Trek fans. President Barack Obama has himself revealed that he is a huge fan. Also actor Tom Hanks reportedly only wanted to talk Trek when he met Patrick Stewart, who appeared on the show as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard.

And it seems it is not just men that can be Star Trek fans. Angelina Jolie revealed she was a Trekkie. In an interview with Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show”, she admitted that when she was young she had a crush on Nimoy. Amongst other fans are Rosario Dawson and Whoopi Goldberg, who appeared in the TV show Star Trek: The Next Generation.
